Have you had planning problems?
The primary issue with HC planning is one of incomptence.
It’s an unwieldy beast that can’t be tamed nor controlled, and clearly at a cost of £2.2m per annum it represents abysmal value for taxpayer cash in the Highlands. We are unsure as to the structure of control within planning but we know of at least 3 “senior planners” 2 of whom have repeatedly ignored requests for help. One of them blackmailed a local person on the promise of assistance (AKA doing their job) and then ignored them and didn’t respond to multiple emails. No explanation. That makes them a liar, as well as incompetent, rude and obnoxious. Much like Raymond Bremner, Convenor of the council who seems to lead from the top down. Regardless of whether you like the content or context of an email from somebody asking you to help them, it is your statutory obligation to respond to them. Even if you don’t know the answer (Bizarre, if you are the head of planning) you must offer an outlet. You can’t just ignore people.
If you have had planning problems and you’d like us to cover your story, please get in touch and we will publish your story here. We know of dozens of people with similar concerns, and with a granted rate of 52% of applications made, there are guaranteed to be dozens of people out there with the same problems, caused by the same people, who are being paid far too much money and rolling along on the gravy train.
